If you’re planning a Cape Coral vacation in spring or early summer 2025, please note that the Chiquita Lock is scheduled to be completely removed between April and June 2025. During this removal period, boat traffic through the lock will be impossible, preventing direct access between the canal system behind the lock and the Gulf of Mexico.

We strongly recommend to get in touch with the boat rental company you rented a boat from and find out whether they have a solution.
