Update 1 on Hurricane Milton – Monday afternoon, Oct 07 2024

Current Forecast: Further below you will find a picture showing the current forecast (track) of hurricane Milton which became a category 5 hurricane a few hours ago.

Evacuation Order: An evacuation order has been issued Monday afternoon for Zones A and B in Lee County. Please see here for further details: www.leegov.com/hurricane/helene

The text of the Evacuation Order says: Those living in evacuation Zones A and B should finalize their hurricane safety plans and evacuate as soon as possible. Severe weather is expected to move into our area overnight on Tuesday. Remember, evacuations do not need to be hundreds of miles away. We encourage you to stay with a friend or family member in a non-evacuated zone. Emergency shelters are also opening for those without a safe place to ride out the storm.

Seabim:

Yesterday and today all Seabim guests in Cape Coral have been notified about hurricane Milton. Almost all guests left the area already and headed back home or to other areas like the East Coast, Orlando etc.

Yesterday and today the Seabim team visited all Seabim properties and prepared the homes according our hurricane preparation list (many things need to be taken care of at every single house to reduce damages).

During the next days we will provide updates through our own channels as best as we can. These channels are:

Seabim guests arriving in the next few days have been informed about the current situation. Unfortunately, at this point we are not able to advise whether they should come or not. We hope to have more detailed news on Thursday.

Please be aware that the ability to communicate locally on the day of the hurricane and in the following days may be difficult or even impossible if, for example, the telephone, internet, and power networks are down. We will still try to provide updates as best as we can. Please do not call or communicate via social media; instead, send an email through our website or directly to CapeCoral@seabim.com

Most likely we will not know any more details before Thursday (or Friday).

Thank you for your help.

The Seabim Team
